Contract Opportunity

The Walnut Industry Group has initiated a benchmarking project that aims to improve the management methods in walnut orchards by providing robust feedback to orchardists on key performance indicators related to management inputs. The project is overseen by the NZWIG Research Group on behalf of NZWIG.

The project is now being furthered by refining the processes and analysis, improving both the quality and the quantity of data being collected by orchardists, and creation of benchmark performance models.

NZWIG is looking for a project coordinator to work under contract for an initial period of 12 months with the research group to progress this work. This contract will be based on defined deliverables rather than specified hours, although the nature of the work is related to the growing season and specific events and so will need to be done within specified time limits.
