Aim
Determine if bacteriophages can reduce incidence of walnut blight
- Isolating strains of Xanthomonas campestris pv juglandis (Xcj) from New Zealand
- Collecting bacteriophages that can lyse X. c. pv juglandis
- Determining which set of bacteriophages could lyse all strains of Xcj
- Determining the ability of the Xcj strains resistant to one bacteriophage to become resistant to other bacteriophages
- Developing a Xcj pathogenicity or virulence bioassay
